The Plantage district of Amsterdam Holland is home to the Amsterdam Zoo (Artis), the Amsterdam Botanical Gardens (Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam) and the Hollandse Schouwburg. The Hollandse Schouwburg commemorates the 60,000 Jews who were held here during WW2 prior to their deportation to Nazi death camps.
